Carieta Costume

Wew.. This is my first post about fashion. Here, i wanna share about my beloved class Carieta Costume. I love these all but finally, we just chose one of them.

Last March, my class were choosen by Carieta's committee to show our performance. It was surprising! We should prepare all of the things we needed such as training, costumes, etc. But we already prepared them a week before Carieta was held! Oh, no man!

Ahja, Carieta is like a talent show of my school, SMAN 1 Yogyakarta. It was held on March 12, 2011 and I think that it was too late to post it in this blog. But, whatever, there is no late in my dictionary. Haha.. Actually, it was the climax of our school anniversary celebration.

By the way, me and Fath were responsible with the costumes. First, she made the sketch, and i tried the real ones with a little improvisation. Haha. My sister Rahma took the photograph of me, and i created the style improvisation (halah) from Fath's original design just in one night!

In this costume, we just needed a jarit as a midi skirt, long sleeves tee's, headscarves, inner, pashmina or scarf and denim pants. We designed the costumes for the girl only. ANd for the boys, so simple. They just had to wear a long shirt, black jeans and a pair of shoes, and the style is depend on their taste of fashion (halah). And here are some pictures that my sister took with my parent's camera. Sorry if the pictures are bad.

1. The Original Design by Fath Ainia

Next time I'll post the sketch

2. 1st Improvisation : Shawl Top

The inspiration of the shawl as top came from one of Indonesian fashion blogger, Restu Anggraini:)

3. 2nd Improvisation : Eastern Cape

I wore a headscarf and flipped it, then I put it on my shoulder with a brooch.:)

4. 3rd Improvement : Head Banded

It was simple but cute, wasn't it?

5. 4rd Improvement : Bow!

I put my scarf as a bow on my neck like this. Cute, rite?:D

After that, I post it in my facebook account to get my classmates votes of the costumes.Yeah, in the morning, a day before our show, heheh, finally, we've got the fixed costume. It was number 4. And yaaa.. it's simple to apply than the others. hehe. We also add some belt that the Javanese dancers usually use in their performances. It called sabuk timang. By the way, the theme of Carieta decoration and scripts on that time were something like in the Javanese kingdom.

Thanks for reading..:))
